the following position with the Research Foundation at the University at Albany

Salary Range: Salary: High $40’s / Low $50’s FLSA: Exempt
The Professional Development Program of the University at Albany’s Rockefeller
College seeks two candidates for the position of
Project Staff Assistant in the Public Service Workshops Program. Duties include
conducting needs assessment with NYS agencies;
developing non-credit workshops in varied occupational fields, including
accounting, education, counseling, engineering, law/criminal
justice, health care, and information technology; developing on-line follow-up
evaluation instruments and reports; participating in
programmatic meetings; utilizing Access databases for reports; writing sections
of monthly and quarterly reports; and other duties as
assigned to meet contractual obligations.
REQUIRED:
1. Bachelor’s degree from a college or university accredited by a USDOE, or an
internationally recognized accrediting organization, in
Public Administration or related field, and three years experience in workforce
development and research.
2. Working knowledge of the structure of NYS government and the composition and
distribution of the workforce.
3. Working knowledge of professional public unions and working in a
labor-management environment
4. Excellent writing, speaking, and presentation skills.
5. Demonstrated computer proficiency in using Microsoft Access and Word.
6. Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and effectively manage multiple
tasks.
7. Applicants must address in their applications their abilities to work with a
culturally diverse population.
8. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
9. Strong team and customer orientation.
10. Applicants must provide a writing sample (approximately 2 pages in length),
such as a report or memorandum for which the applicant
was the primary author.
PREFERRED:
1. A Master’s degree or significant credits toward a degree from a college or
university accredited by a USDOE, or an internationally
recognized accrediting organization, in Public Administration, or related field.
A Master’s degree may be substituted for some years of
experience in workforce development.
2. Experience in the development and delivery of professional development for
adults in at least two of the occupational groups.
3. Experience utilizing Learning Management Systems for training registration.

Employment is through the Research Foundation of SUNY and is contingent upon
continued funding. The Research Foundation of
SUNY is a private, not-for-profit organization managing sponsored program
